If one’s a crowd…what’s 18?

Got space in your home and heart for these lovely little babies? These are just eight of the 18 pups that Kechara members rescued last week. They were born to two different mothers, who found shelter under a tree. The story began when Susan Lim learned about the pups from Datin Jennifer Khoo. Datin Jennifer said they were being cared for by Ruby Low and a nice man called Mr Lim.

To have 18 puppies together is such an unusual piece of news that it began attracting a lot of attention. Many people started to visit the puppies but with so many people coming to the area, Mr Lim’s neighbours soon lodged a complaint with the authorities, who responded by removing the pups.

On hearing that they had been removed and suffered some mistreatment, Susan asked her friend to go down to the pound to rescue the puppies before they were put down. Susan’s friend arrived in the nick of time to whisk them away from a certain death.

They were moved back to their home under Ruby Low’s tree, before Kecharians came by to foster the whole group. The first litter of eight were removed along with their mummy, before the second litter were brought into Kechara’s care. The puppies are currently in the vet recovering from their ordeal, having their health monitored and getting their vaccinations.

Soon, they’ll be ready for adoption by nice people who will give them the love their mothers will be hard-pressed to share with their brothers and sisters. So we ask again, have YOU got space in your home and heart for these lovely little babies? Please get in touch with Kechara Animal Sanctuary by calling +6010 322 6666 or emailing kas@kechara.com.

And remember – animals are not toys! They are living, breathing beings who need food, care, attention, training and plenty of love. These puppies, whilst cute now, will grow up to become medium-sized dogs just like their mothers. Please bear this in mind when you make your much-appreciated offer to adopt one of these little darlings!
