Apprentice of Kechara InMotion

Using my degree in Journalism, I have dedicated my life to television productions and, for the past fifteen years, have always been busy with all kinds of television programmes.

I had no knowledge about Dharma until I attended His Eminence Tsem Tulku Rinpoche’s Dharma teachings in 2006. Inspired by His Eminence’s teachings, I volunteered to produce Dharma videos under his guidance. I feel very fortunate and honoured that I can use my experience and skills to engage into Dharma practice through video production.

With the support from the other Liaisons, I hope to use my professional skills to support His Eminence’s work to further the growth of Lama Tsongkhapa’s teachings worldwide.

Rinpoche said to everyone, “You are here not to pray for yourself, but to pray for your enemy. Love your outer enemy.” I contemplated on it, and immediately let go of my hatred and anger towards people who had hurt me.

How were you introduced to Kechara? Were you approached on a professional basis, to produce a video?

Something like that! It was by chance that I walked into Kechara Paradise 1Utama and bought a Green Tara prayer card. I left my name card with Joann Tan and later, received a call asking me if I could help to produce Dharma videos – my first project with Kechara was for the DVD Dharma Starts At Home.

So what attracted you to Kechara? Why did you stay on to produce more videos after that initial project?

So many things compelled me to stay. First and foremost, it was H.E. Tsem Tulku Rinpoche’s Dharma teachings. With Rinpoche’s teachings, I began to understand Dharma in more depth. It was also the positive energy I felt coming from the members.

When did you start Dharma? Why do you like Dharma?

Since September 2007, I have been the Department Head for Kechara InMotion. I like Dharma because it gives me more knowledge to help more people. Through Dharma work, I feel happier as I now have more purpose in life and I am learning how to abandon my self-cherishing mind.

Can you remember which of Rinpoche’s teachings has had the biggest impact on you?

Yes, it was during the Nepal pilgrimage in October 2008. Rinpoche said to everyone, “You are here not to pray for yourself, but to pray for your enemy. Love your outer enemy.” This message has stayed with me since then – I contemplated on it, and immediately let go of my hatred and anger towards people who had hurt me.

What is it about Rinpoche that you like?

I really like Rinpoche’s compassionate guidance and unconditional love to all beings, whether they are human or not. I also like the way Rinpoche’s simple but meaningful messages always open up my heart. They bring me one step further in my Dharma practice and motivate me to want to help others through Dharma work.
