A Restoring (Zong) Rinpoche Update

15 April 2010 - 4:43pm No Comments

Since our last update, the restoration of His Eminence Tsem Rinpoche’s personal statue of his root guru, His Holiness Kyabje Zong Rinpoche, has been going very well.

Lili Ng, our resident sculptor and painter extraordinaire, has been working hard to perfectly restore the statue of her root guru’s root guru. This is the same statue that everyone thought was destroyed forever when water dripped onto it from the floor above Kechara House 1.

It is an understatement to say that Lili is completely devoted to the restoration – she has been in our studio day in, day out, until the wee hours of the morning for the last couple of weeks. The work she has done includes painting Rinpoche’s inner shirt and robe to look like actual brocade, complete with real gold paint.

Just how good are our KSA artists?

THIS good.

If you want your statues (or thangkas and tsa tsas!) to get the same love and careful treatment, contact our Head of Department Liaison Wan Wong at wan.wong@kechara.com or +6012 282 1030.
