Kechara Saraswati Arts provides mala restringing services. Old malas or broken ones can be re-stringed, and even revamped by adding new beads or precious stones to them. There are endless possibilities to customise your mala to reflect your own unique personality and style.
Malas are prayer beads bearing great similarities to the Christian rosary. Commonly, a mala is a string of 108 beads with one summit bead called a ‘Sumeru’. It is a tool used to keep one’s mind on the meditation practice. For those who do not intend to use the malas for personal prayers, the pretty malas can also be used as a decorative display.
Malas are generally made from different materials such as tulsi (basil) wood, sandalwood, rudraksh seeds or crystals. Each type of material has certain properties which subtly affect the subconscious mind of the practitioner. In this day and age, with the help of KSA, one has the freedom to create a mala beyond the traditional beads and materials used.
