A Message From Our Founder, H.E. the 25th Tsem Rinpoche
"When I was younger, I had very little, next to no money. I know what it’s like to go to sleep with an empty stomach. I never forgot what it was like and I sympathise deeply with people who have it hard.
This is why I created Kechara Soup Kitchen. No one deserves to go hungry… and KSK has a strong policy to serve all, regardless of race, religion or creed. Hence the motto for Kechara Soup Kitchen is “Hunger Knows No Barriers”.
I send everyone involved in Kechara Soup Kitchen my warm thanks for remembering the less fortunate, which is crucial to set the right example for our communities and children."
To take food and to give it to them with two hands. To look into their eyes with respect. To look into their faces and ask them, “Is it enough?” To do that with love would change the life of that person living in the streets.
Look at how time flies! It has almost been a decade since we started serving the community in this area and I am glad we are still continuing this practice. All this is made possible by our generous sponsors, tireless volunteers…
